Service Hours and Project Opportunities

Mary Queen of Peace welcomes individuals and groups seeking meaningful volunteer opportunities in support of the chapel’s preservation, care, and ongoing needs. Opportunities may be especially well suited for scout troops, Star, Life, and Eagle Scout projects, Girl Scout Gold Award projects, students completing service hours, JROTC or Civil Air Patrol cadets, parish youth groups, military members seeking to document qualifying volunteer service, including those pursuing the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and other school, civic, or community organizations. We are happy to work with volunteers whose schools, programs, or units require proof, documentation, or verification of completed service hours. In this way, volunteers directly help preserve Mary Queen of Peace as a sacred Catholic space that remains in good repair and available for prayer and devotional life and we can support the community member(s) in return.

Examples of Volunteer Opportunities

  • Grounds cleanup and seasonal exterior work
  • Light painting, cleaning, and beautification projects
  • Basic preservation and maintenance support
  • Organized work days for special chapel needs
  • Assistance with events, setup, and community activities
  • Service projects suitable for youth, civic, scouting, or military volunteer programs
